What is fire stricker?

A fire striker, also known as a ferrocerium rod or flint and steel, is a tool used for fire-making. It consists of a rod made of a metal alloy that creates a spark when struck against a hard surface such as a piece of steel or rock. The alloy typically includes iron, magnesium, and other metals that generate a high temperature spark when struck.

To use a fire striker, a small amount of tinder such as dry grass or wood shavings is placed next to the striking surface. The rod is then gripped firmly with one hand and struck with a steel object or rock with the other hand, creating sparks that ignite the tinder. The flame is then fanned and fed with larger pieces of fuel until a fire is established.

Fire strikers have been used for thousands of years and are still commonly used by outdoor enthusiasts, survivalists, and others who need to start a fire in challenging conditions. They are compact, durable, and don't require any fuel or other materials to function, making them a reliable and versatile fire-making tool.
